Superior Fabrics

Our handpicked fabrics embody the appropriate balance of hand feel, durability and appearance.  Our fabrics include twills, broadcloths, pinpoints, piques, oxfords, herringbones, end-on-ends, stripes, plaids, ginghams, windowpanes, solids and more.  Thread count has become the de facto marketing trick of many shirt companies, however, the fabric mill and its production process (from cotton cleaning through weaving) actually determine the quality, longevity and look or feel of a shirt.

Local Production

Our shirts are produced in one of the only remaining New York City shirt factories.

Fabric Preparation

Washing and sponging maximizes fabric shrinkage prior to cutting.

Hand Cut Patterns

Our master pattern makers use a surgical knife (no scissors, lasers or computers) so that we can account for specific body characteristics.  This is the most critical step in the production process.

Collars and Cuffs

Non-fusible interlining (sewn in) is used in all collars and cuffs for longevity.  The alternative, fusible interlining (high temperature glue), bleeds through the fabric over time creating undesirable discoloration and damaging the integrity of the fabric.

Genuine Mother of Pearl Buttons

The highest quality buttons available, our buttons each have a unique luster and handle washing and pressing better than plastic or horn lookalikes which frequently discolor and crack.

Single Needle Stitching

Creates clean lines that do not wrinkle after years of washing and pressing.

Split Yoke

Allows for greater arm movement as the shirt can be shaped to the customer’s specific shoulder slope.

Hand Monogramming

Stitched by hand rather than machine, our monograms feature immaculate, elegant text.

Production Date Labels

Lets you know when your shirt was produced.

Hand Pleating

Our tuxedo and formal shirts are hand pleated resulting in a very tight, clean appearance.
